MUSICIANS from AMERICA'S #1 HIGH SCHOOL SHOW CHOIR DELIVER HARD-ROCKING SINGLE, "WORLD OF LIES," TO RAISE FUNDS FOR ALMA MATER'S VOCAL MUSIC PROGRAM
BURBANK, CA – John Burroughs High School Vocal Music Association Past President and recent National High School Musical Theatre Awards winner Josh Strobl and his hard-rocking, teenaged classmates, two-time City of Burbank Battle of the Bands Champions LA NOIZE, are proud to announce the world premiere/release of the band’s debut single, “World of Lies.”
The “World of Lies” session was produced by recording industry veteran Rocco Guarino, who has won accolades for his production and/or songwriting work with Stone Temple Pilots, Elton John, and Velvet Revolver. Guarino was also business partner and close friend to Stone Temple Pilot’s late frontman, Scott Weiland.
ReadyMix Music in North Hollywood — The Official Recording Studio of the JBHS VMA — is a state of the art facility with a vintage vibe, built in the 1970s by Jackson Browne. Guarino and ReadyMix owners Sarah Taylor and Paul Horabin have donated their time, facilities, and expertise in support of the Burroughs High School vocal music program.
LA Noize is donating 100% of sales directly to the JBHS Vocal Music Association, a profoundly influential public school music education program, which has claimed seven National Championship titles since 2007, performed on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” “Dancing with the Stars,” and "The Voice," as well as on legendary stages in Hong Kong, Beijing, Nashville, and New York. Last month, the show choir claimed their eighth Grand National Championship in 10 years at a high-stakes contest in Washington DC.
“World of Lies” — cowritten by LA Noise bandmates Lead Guitarist Mihailo Lukic and Guitarist Christian Huleis — is a propulsive powerhouse of melodic hard rock madness, with Strobl (a long ways away from “West Side Story” and The Great White Way) howling a lyric of dismay at the state of the world today. A soaring, irresistible chorus hints at brighter days ahead, while guitarists Lukic and Huleis joyride on a feral riff, Christian Acedo’s insinuating bass carves a deep groove, and hulk-smash drummer Austin Farmer holds hard time. To close, 18-year old, self- taught Lukic delivers a climactic, virtuosic solo that had hard rock vet Guarino ecstatic.
“I’ve recorded some of the best rock guitarists in the world,” says Guarino. “I’d put Mihailo right up there with them. You will not believe this solo!”
Strobl, who handles lead and backing vocals for LA Noize, served as JBHS VMA President for the 2016-2017 school year.
For a band just barely old enough to vote, LA Noize has a storied career, playing a number of high- profile, Los Angeles events and festivals, as well as regular gigs at Whisky A Go Go, Loaded, and Lucky Strike. Four years ago, LA Noize joined music legends Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek of The Doors for several numbers at The Whisky.
LA Noize’s “World of Lies” is part of a trailblazing fundraising campaign designed by JBHS VMA alumni to support a cherished aspect of Burbank culture and one of the nation’s most vital and inspiring public school arts program. The program currently serves more than 400 Burbank youth with virtually unrivaled musical arts education that virtually doubles as a full- fledged, top-drawer theatrical production company. Current student performers and alumni of the JBHS VMA have banded together with A-list music industry veterans to record RAISE YOUR VOICE: An All-Star Fundraising Album for the JBHS VMA:

The full-length fundraising album will be released Summer 2017, and features 14 original songs penned by current/former JBHS VMA students, many of the pieces recorded in collaboration with A-list musicians and industry veterans. Mr. Guarino, ReadyMix Music, and recording artists like Miss Johnette Napolitano and Dramarama's John Easdale are donating all time and talent.
